Meet the Team

Steve.jpg

Steve Bennett - Finance Director
Steve has been there since the very first festival in 2016 and has loved every minute of it. When he’s not organising fringe festivals Steve runs his own Cardiff-based theatre company, Clock Tower Theatre Company, and makes custom seats for motorsport. He likes to unwind with a cheeky sudoku, glass of vino and a good murder mystery programme.

Alice Downing - Marketing Director
Alice is an actor, poet and theatre maker who is also the marketing human for the festival. She’s excited about seeing the festival grow year to year and thrilled that she gets to make it happen in this city she now calls home. When not smashing about on a laptop she likes music and wiggling about to it.

Isabelle Paige - Partnerships Manager
Back for the festival’s third year, Isabelle is enjoying building our relationships with local businesses. She is primarily an actor-singer and has an honours degree in Musical Theatre Performance from Trinity Laban. Years of performing and producing at the Edinburgh Fringe have given her some insight into the perks and pitfalls of doing fringe as an unfunded artist. These days you might find her doing a musical, a play or an opera, but whichever it is, it’s probably comic. She’s the strange love child of the film Moulin Rouge! and the TV series Rick and Morty.

Katie.jpg

Katie Walsh - Secretary
This is Katie’s first foray into the Cardiff Fringe and she is loving every minute of it. A Drama graduate from University of Birmingham she has moved back home to Cardiff and is a fan of local theatre and events which she is involved with in many different ways. Her favourite animals are dogs, but she worries that she is too similar to cats and this keeps her up at night.

George.jpg

George Soave - Production Manager
George has been rambling on about the CFTF for almost three years now and is ruddy overjoyed that people are still listening. He enjoys producing work and living in such a vibrant and culturally diverse theatre community and can’t get away from it. You’ll recognise him by identifying that annoying audience member whose laugh sounds like a high-pitched shriek... Outside of the Cardiff Fringe, George is the Creative Producer of Big Loop Theatre Company and the Producer at The Other Room Theatre, Cardiff.

Liv.jpg

Olivia Nicholson - Production Assistant
After volunteering in the second year of the Fringe, Liv has joined the hive mind of the Fringe production team as an assistant. A lover of board games and frowning, she's been working in theatre and events production since she moved to Wales seven years ago and is greatly enjoying being an instrument in the machinations of the Festival.

Minty.jpg

Minty Booth - People Man
Hello it’s me minty! I studied drama at university. I really love the arts, creativity, the hospitality sector, cooking, barrel-aged beer, anything that empowers people to brighten and enrich not only their own lives, but the lives of those around them. And what a privilege it is to be part of this wonderful team that loves EXACTLY THE SAME THINGS

James.jpg

James Sarson - Marketing Assistant
James is an actor, musician, and writer based in Cardiff for almost eight years now. He has been active within the creative scene for a while and is well excited to be helping out with CFTF marketing, social media, and communications this year. James is a big fan of poetry, long walks on the beach, and eggs three ways.

Cory.jpg

Cory Tucker - Marketing Assistant
Cory is an actor, scenographer and theatre-maker holding an MA in Drama from the University of South Wales. He is one of the founders of CFTF and has worked as a marketing assistant for the 2016 and 2018 festivals. When he’s not reading words and making sure they’re all spelled correctly Cory likes to wear clothes, hold objects and use his eyes to look at things that are around him.

Kitty.jpg

Kitty Hughes - Production Assistant
Kitty Hughes is a freelance writer, actor and stage manager who helped found Big Loop Theatre Company along with the other four directors after finishing her MA in Drama. She specializes in scriptwriting and Magic Realism in theatre , writing and performing Stormchasers in Cardiff and Bristol (2016). She lived and worked in Bristol with Yardarts Collective circus and also performed with Flying Elephant theatre company on Boomerang (2017). She is currently working writing and directing short pieces for scratch nights and is part of the production team for the Cardiff Fringe Theatre Festival.

Duncan.jpg

Duncan Hallis - Venue Coordinator
Duncan has been the CFTF Venue Coordinator for two years and is passionate about providing local venues with new experiences and audiences by linking them with dynamic and exciting artists. He works closely with the CFTF venues and sees firsthand the intense generosity and support that these organisations have for Cardiff's cultural landscape. Without them, this festival wouldn't be possible. He also directs and acts sometimes with Big Loop Theatre Company.
